Changing My Router

August 3, 2008 – 2:06 am

Yeah..it’s time to change my router after using the old one around 3 years. My old router not stable anymore. Connection to internet keep disconnected… So i take a decision to change my router after i keep asking my wife to change it. So we go to It Center at Sunway Piramid and find same brand with old router(Belkin).

My new router type G but the old one type N..I don’t know where i put the old router. That why no picture for the old one. The new one cost me around RM160. Now i can use internet without disconnected.. :)

Update:

After using it around a month, i face a problem while connecting the router using wireless through window xp. The connection always drop. But never face the problem when connect through OS X. Don’t know why..It’s also happen to my brother in law. He also using same router like mine.

  6. When you mentioned “connection dropped”, does it effect the whole network (i.e. the router rebooted) or only the XP machine?

I had an “auto-reboot” problem with my Linksys WRT54G v2.2 (it is a very very old router) about 2 years back. When there is a lot of traffic the connection is dropped and the only way to fix this was to overclock it by 16MHz. It’s has became rock stable since then.

Anyone in the Internet is having the same problem? Perhaps there is a workaround somewhere…
