Download picasa web album with iphoto
June 24, 2008 – 2:25 amThis is tutorial how to download picasa album using iphoto. It’s so tired to click one by one and save it manually to your hard disk. I try to find in google, but all result is about upload picture from iphoto to Picasa web album.
Thanks to gary coz teach me the trick.
1. Go to picasa web album. etc : http://picasaweb.google.com/johnnyhew. For your info, Jonny is a freelance photographer. Click here to see his blog. Sorry Jonny, i use your album as my referrer..Hope you don’t mind

2 . Choose the album that you like.
3. Right click at rss link and copy link location.
4. Then open your iphoto, choose File >> Subscribe to Photo Feed… or press Command+U
5. Enter your rss feed that you copy. Right click in the box and paste or just press command + V.
6. Click Subscribe. Then in the tree view will show that iphoto start download the picture from picasa web album
7. Done..See all picture in the album in Picasa web album in my iphoto.
Give a try….
- Got another solution to download it, but using firefox plugin. Refer here for tutorial.

My Daughter made an album on Picassaweb and gave me the username & password but I cannot find the page to enter it in order to see the album {and neither can she} HELP!!!!!!!!!!

whats your username..to enter the site just add your username at the behind..
example : http://picasaweb.google.com/johnnyhew
this web belong to jonnyhew user..

This is great, thanks!!! have been searching for this on the web, am surprised nobody else pointed this out. My remaining question is: does iPhoto then actually download and keep the physical files of the pictures from web album; or does it just save the links or something? So if I download the pictures now, will I be able to add them to my events and then look at them later without internet connection? thanks!

Hi! Thanks for the info., but I’m trying to do transfer my picasa albums to iphoto 9, I followed the steps above, but it’s still not working

I did come up with a perl script that does this too. That was back in 2008 but it still works now with iPhoto’09.

I use both Picassa and Flickr for sharing photos over the internet but i use Flickr more often than Picassa..`~

If you follow these steps exactly, in iPhoto you will see reduced sized images (1600 pixel wide – approx 2 megapixel) and for large albums you may not get all pictures. If you want the original (> 2MP) sized images and all of them, you can follow these instructions but in step 5, add this to the end of the URL you just pasted:
&imgmax=d&max-results=10000
