Fan Control for MacBook Pro Boot Camp
May 14, 2008 – 4:54 amMy MBP(MacBook Pro) running so hot when i’m using window xp in boot camp – actually i’m playing some heavy graphic game
.Why it so hot ?…I heard one of the reasons that why Windows runs hotter than OSX is because it defaults the fan at 1000RMP instead of 2000RPM w/o proper driver support.
Default fan for OXS is around 2000RPM. So what i’m suggesting here based on my experiece..i’m install smcFanControl. I’m setting fancontrol to HigherRPM when using Window xp. You cannot setting it inside window xp. So must set inside OSX then restart and load window xp again. The setting will remain.
FanControl lets the user adjust the minimum speed of the built in fans. So you can increase the minimum speed to make your Intel Mac run cooler, as well as monitor temperature and fan speed.
Here some screenshot from my OSX :

Except that SpeedFan is not yet compatible with late ‘08 unibody MacBook Pro fans
