Make your screen saver as desktop wallpaper on mac

Hey, i found another cool application. That called Wallsaver. Wallsaver can turn your screen saver as your desktop wallpaper. If your screensaver is a motion type, so after you turn on Wallsaver, your desktop wallpaper also move same like your screensaver.

Wallscreen is desktop widgets application. Just download the application and activate it inside desktop widget. Where to download? Click here.

Take a snapshot with skitch on your mac

Previous post i write about How to take a snapshot on your mac and inside the post is about to take a snapshot using build in function to take snapshot. I found another application that can bring same function like build in one but this one is more option. The application was called Skitch. Here some additional function that i always use. Build in function just take the snapshot only.

Picture above was taking from my skitch account. See the function that you can do with skitch. When you snap the picture, you can edit the picture directly without using another application like photoshop. You can:

1. Add rectangle.

2. Add arrow.

3. Add text.

4. Just drag the picture to save it.

5. Can upload photo into Skitch/.mac or whatever account that you setup.

6. Not just picture that you just snap, but can grab whatever photo in you hard disk.

Default datetime on Rails Application

This is how to set default datetime in my current project. And you also can format like what i done.

1. Set default format in environment.rb

# Added default date/time display
ActiveSupport::CoreExtensions::Time::Conversions::DATE_FORMATS[:default] = "%m/%d/%Y %I:%M%p"
ActiveSupport::CoreExtensions::Date::Conversions::DATE_FORMATS[:default] = "%m/%d/%Y"

2. Define in your code

>> Time.now
=> Thu Sep 25 01:24:30 +0800 2008
 
>> Date.today
=> Thu, 25 Sep 2008
 
>> Time.today.at_midnight
=> Thu Sep 25 00:00:00 +0800 2008

but if you don’t want the default format, can change when you called in your code.

>> Date.today.strftime("%m/%d/%y")
=> "09/25/08"
 
>> Date.today.strftime("%m/%d/%Y")
=> "09/25/2008"

Format meaning

   %a - The abbreviated weekday name (``Sun'')
   %A - The  full  weekday  name (``Sunday'')
   %b - The abbreviated month name (``Jan'')
   %B - The  full  month  name (``January'')
   %c - The preferred local date and time representation
   %d - Day of the month (01..31)
   %H - Hour of the day, 24-hour clock (00..23)
   %I - Hour of the day, 12-hour clock (01..12)
   %j - Day of the year (001..366)
   %m - Month of the year (01..12)
   %M - Minute of the hour (00..59)
   %p - Meridian indicator (``AM''  or  ``PM'')
   %S - Second of the minute (00..60)
   %U - Week  number  of the current year,
        starting with the first Sunday as the firs
        day of the first week (00..53)
   %W - Week  number  of the current year,
        starting with the first Monday as the first
        day of the first week (00..53)
   %w - Day of the week (Sunday is 0, 0..6)
   %x - Preferred representation for the date alone, no time
   %X - Preferred representation for the time alone, no date
   %y - Year without a century (00..99)
   %Y - Year with century
   %Z - Time zone name
   %% - Literal ``%'' character

I had migraine today

This morning when i woke up, my head feel so bad and i saw whole room spinning. Then i know that i might had migraine today. So i get my phone and sms my boss to tell him that i can’t work today. After that i grab a panadol and continue my sleep.

At afternoon i woke up again after i heard my phone ringing. Oh…that was sms ringing and i read the sms. That was joke from my friend :

Emergency!Warning!

If your friends go for china chick or china hooker,

Please Please,

Remember to warn them don’t suck their breast,

Because…

China’s milk was poisoned.

hahahaha….that funny and make my migraine calm down…
