Playstation 3 with P1 WIMAX
June 14, 2009 – 8:15 pmI don’t recommend using P1 WIMAX service to play Playsation game online because P1 WIMAX using NAT3 (Network Address Translation). Trying to using port forwarding and DMZ but i still get NAT3. This is my experience since i’m using PI WIMAX.
It’s doesn’t mean that you cannot play online games but only certain game only can play.
Whats different between NAT?
NAT 3 = Restricted voice communication and other features
NAT 2 = Correct ports fowarded for your PS3 or it’s DMZ’d
NAT 1 = No router, it goes straight through the modem (normally)
Games that i can play online so far :
1. Fifa09
2. GT5 Prologue

If there’s no router and your pc is directly connected via a modem, there is no NAT. There is no translation being done and you use the public IP (or the ISP assigned IP).
Unless P1 actually provides you with a private IP, in which case NAT is done at their end, and it sucks big time for public facing applications.
